Jet Star 2 at night

I am always on the look out for neat stuff on either the Jumbo Jet or Jet Star 2 and I just found this really cool front seat POV of the lagoon’s Jet Star 2 at night.

Just a little something for you on the off season as you think forward to opening day at Cedar Point and what they have new in store for us in 2012. Let’s Ride!

Jet Star 2, Up Close!

First off I would like to thank JohnnyUpSideDown.com for allowing me to post these pictures of the Jet Star 2 at the Lagoon in Utah. Since there are no Jumbo Jets close, the next best thing is the Jet Star 2!

So now all you have to do is plan your trip to Utah to ride the Jet Star 2. Are you ready? I am…. Let’s Ride!

The closest we will get!

This video is a rider’s point of view of the Lagoon’s Jet Star 2. It’s the closet we will get to a Jumbo Jet riders point of view. The main difference between this ride and the Jumbo Jet is the support structures and the Jumbo Jet has a longer track…

That will give you an idea what it was like to ride the Jumbo Jet, a thrill ride that is now the lost coaster.

Jet Star 2

The Jumbo Jet that was at Cedar Point from 1972-1978 was a Jet Star 3 made by Schwarzkopf. I was wondering what a Jet Star 2 was and I have found one standing at the Lagoon in Utah (Lagoon, Fun Starts Here). It looks like the same layout as the Jet Star 3, however the support structure is different. Plus the Jet Star 2 does not have the same super sturture on it that the Jet Star 3 had. Here is a picture from the 1974 Expo in Spokane, Washington.:

Jet Star 2 brand new in 1974

This Jet Star was relocated to the Lagoon in 1976. In 2005 the ride was refurbished because the ride was so popular and is still in operation today. What I would give for a ride on the Jumbo Jet or a Jet Star 2. Let’s Ride!
